Chamoun, Zarou Named Second-Team All-NEWMAC

Babson Park, Mass. – Junior Hana Chamoun (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) and sophomore Jenna Zarou (Garden City, N.Y.) have both been named second-team all-conference by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer ten head coaches it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

That duo helped lead the Cougars to a spot in the conference tournament semifinals and played an integral part in Clark's upset over Babson in the NEWMAC Tournament Quarterfinals.

Chamoun picks up her first conference honor after a junior campaign that saw her appear in 18 of the 19 games, making 17 starts. She finished second on the team in goals (four) and points (11) and tied for the team lead in assists (three).

Her signature moment of the season came in the Cougars' opening round win over Babson when she netted the game's lone goal in the 67th minute to push Clark into the conference tournament final four.

Zarou, meanwhile, emerged as a key figure on the Cougars' backline, helping Clark post seven shutouts on the season.

She started 18 games in 2011, finishing with two goals – one a game-winner the other a game-tying marker in the 79th minute – and two assists.

The Cougars wrapped up the 2011 season at 7-9-3 and made the program's second semifinals appearance in the last four years.
