Perfect 10! Garcia Grabs Tenth Diver Of The Week Honor

Babson Park, Mass. – For the tenth time in her illustrious career and the second time this season, Clark University All-American diver Eileen Garcia (New York, N.Y.) has been named New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s diver of the week.

The announcement was made late Monday afternoon by the conference office.

Garcia swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter events in last Friday’s dual meet with NEWMAC foes Wheaton and Mount Holyoke.

On the 1-meter board, she scored a 241.40, outdistancing her nearest competitor by nearly 70 points. Then on the 3-meter, she posted a score of 285.15 – an even more impressive score when you learn that her nearest competitor in this event was more than 99 points behind her.

Garcia and her teammates will return to the pool on Friday when they take part in the annual Worcester City Championships – an event she has claimed Diver of the Meet three times in her career.
