Worcester, Mass. – The Clark University women's rowing team had a pair of boats in the water taking part in the annual Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Saturday morning on Lake Quinsigamond.
The Cougar scullers "A" boat consisting of Kate Barnett (West Simsbury, Conn.), Lydia Warters (Simsbury, Conn.), Halley Glier (Shelburne, Mass.), Emily Thibault (Williamsville, Vt.), Aubrey Hulbert (Reno, Nev.), Emily Ladda (Farmington, Conn.), Ella Scott, Niki Lew (Auburndale, Mass.), and Cailyn Keely (Takoma Park, Md.) finished in 14th place with a time of 15:54.4.
That time is over a minute faster than crews from previous years and just ten seconds behind league power Mount Holyoke.
Meanwhile, Clark's "B" boat with Sophie Spiliotopoulos (Arlington, Va.), Katherine Meehan (Orange, Conn.), Jessica Martinez (Amherst, Mass.), Mackenzie Satalino (West Hartford, Conn.), Juliette Gale (Bedford, Mass.), Isabel Bleyer (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Arlynn Baer (Millburn, N.J.), Holly Bauer (Portland, Conn.), and Olivia Young (Cranford, N.J.) did a tremendous job fighting through after several team members fell ill earlier in the week to finish with a time of 17:25.2.
"Very proud of both Clark crews today," said head coach Mike McDonald. "I look forward to the Head of the Fish in two weeks."
