Cougars Wrap Up Season With Near Historic Performance

Gorham, Maine  - After one of the most successful seasons in recent memory, the Clark University men's cross country team wrapped up its first campaign with an impressive performance at the 2013 NCAA New England Regional meet on Saturday.

The Cougars finished in 21st position – the second-best finish in school history at the event in 19 all-time appearances. Back in 1993, the Clark team was 19th.

Clark was paced by freshman Rhys Duquette (Holyoke, Mass.) who finished the 8K layout in 26:41, good for 98th place.

He was followed by John Allard (Smithfield, R.I.) in 113th place in a time of 27:01 and Nathan Buck (Portland, Maine) in 27:09.

Robert Gammell (Mattapoisett, Mass.) in 132nd place was next in a time of 27:15 and Timothy Conley (Walpole, Mass.) wrapped up the scoring contingent for the Cougars in 165th place, crossing the line in 27:15.
