Men's Swimming and Diving Finishes Day Three of NEWMAC Championship

Cambridge, Mass.--The Clark University men's swimming and diving team finished the third day of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship in 7th place with a score of 193. MIT leads the field by 284.5 points with a total of 1109 as the U.S. Coast Guard Academy currently sits in second place with 824.5 points. WPI is third at 656, followed by Wheaton (391.5), Springfield (368), Babson (317) and Clark (193).

Freshman Eric Cobert (Newton, Mass.) swam the 400 yard IM "B" final in a time of 4:28.00. Junior Sebastian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla.) posted a time of 54.01 in the "B" final of the 100 yard butterfly. Bill Holloman (Avon, Conn.) finished the 100 yard breastroke in 59.17.

Dylan Schrama (Taunton, Mass.), Sebastian Ortega, Julian Ortega (West Palm Beach, Fla.), and Holloman swam the 200 yard medley relay in 1:39.46. They shaved 5.01 seconds off of their prelim time.

Clark returns to the MIT pool Sunday morning for the final day of the NEWMAC Championship. Events include the 1650-free, 200-back, 100-free, 200-breast, 200-fly and 400-free relay. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. and finals start at 6:00 p.m.
