Green Shines As Cougars Stay In Seventh At Championships

Worcester, Mass. – Clive Green's strong performance in the 50-yard freestyle highlighted the Clark University's men's swimming and diving team's showing on the second day of the New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships at WPI on Friday evening.

Green posted the third fastest time in the event in school history in the preliminaries in the morning, finishing in a time of 21.64. He then recorded a time of 21.70 in the championship final – a time that is the second fastest of his career.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Jack Hall (McLean, Va.) registered a time of 4:56.50 – the fourth fastest time in the event in school history.

Meanwhile, the 400-yard medley relay of Will Hurley (Swanville, Maine), David Powers (Woodbridge, Conn.), Arjuna Shenoy (San Jose, Calif.) and Josh Kent (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished seventh in the championship final with a time of 3:43.96.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday beginning with the 10:00 a.m. session.
