Newton, Mass. – Clark University lacrosse senior star Zach Duffy (Wakefield, Mass.) has been selected to participate in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West All-Star Game it was announced recently by regional chair Tim Murphy.
The East-West game is an annual tradition that gives exceptional graduating seniors a chance to represent their institutions on the lacrosse field one final time. Teams are made up of 25-man rosters across all divisions of New England lacrosse. The game is scheduled to be played on Friday, May 30 at Springfield College at 5:00 p.m.
"This is a tremendous honor for Zach," said Clark head coach Jeff Cohen. "He deserves this special recognition after his stellar career as a Cougar. I'm very proud of the young man he has become and it is clear that other coaches from around New England have taken notice of his hard work and on-field demeanor."
With Duffy anchoring the backline, Clark won a school-record eight games this season and advanced to play in their first-ever postseason game.
Individually, he finished his senior campaign ranked third in the New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in caused turnovers (27) and seventh in groundballs (51). Meanwhile, his 147 career groundball pickups are tied for eighth on the school's all-time list.
