-Records: Clark (22-10), Anna Maria (14-22)

-Location: Worcester, Mass. (Granger Field)

-The Lead: The Clark University baseball team earned a victory in a competitive non-conference battle with the AMCATS of Anna Maria College on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-The Cougars got on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI single to centerfield from junior Zach Kelley (Hadley, Mass.) that scored Kyle Bonicki (Waterbury, Conn.) for the 1-0 lead. They added another run in bottom of the second when sophomore Nick Jordan (Seaford, N.Y.) came home on a single to right field from his classmate Kyle Shaw (Litchfield, N.H.) (2-0).

-The Cougars put up three hits and a run in the bottom of the fifth. Bonicki got things started with a single up the middle and got into scoring position when he stole second base. With two outs sophomore Derek Lefebvre (Groton, Mass.) hit a hard ball to the right side to move Bonicki to third and first year Chris Radovic (Fairfield, Conn.) found space up the middle for an RBI single as Bonicki came home (3-0).

-The AMCATS came alive in the top of the sixth when freshman Kino Gray (Brewster, Mass.) came home on a double play by the Cougars (3-1). They cut their deficit to one run when sophomore Greg Gehring (Southold, N.Y.) homered over the centerfield fence. This is as close as they would come as Clark clinched the 3-2 victory.
