Kopec Named NEWMAC Player of the Week
Babson Park, Mass. - Clark junior catcher
Kevin Kopec (Katonah, N.Y.) was named New England
Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) player of the week
it was announced on Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Kopec hit a sizzling .533 (8-for-15) in four games as the Cougars
backstop during a 2-2 week. Of his eight hits, three were for extra
bases, including a double, triple and a home run.
He had a pair of three hit games, including a 3-for-4, three RBI
performance with a double and a homerun in a win over Babson, then
ranked No. 1 in New England by the NEIBA.
Then in a loss to Springfield, he went 3-for-5 with an RBI to
extend his hitting streak to ten games.
Defensively, he threw out 7-of-9 runners attempting to steal while
he was behind the plate.
Clark returns to action on Tuesday with a crucial NEWMAC contest at
Babson.
