NCAA ADHD Medication Policy
In an effort to keep prescription drug abuse to a minimum, the
NCAA has instituted a new rule (effective August 2009) regarding
stimulant medication such as those used in the treatment of ADHD.
The new rule effectively reads that all student athletes that have
been prescribed a stimulant medication must have full documentation
pertaining to the disorder requiring said medication. This
documentation should include but is not limited to diagnosis and
the steps to come to the diagnosis, and prescription name and
