NCAA ADHD Medication Policy

In an effort to keep prescription drug abuse to a minimum, the NCAA has instituted a new rule (effective August 2009) regarding stimulant medication such as those used in the treatment of ADHD. The new rule effectively reads that all student athletes that have been prescribed a stimulant medication must have full documentation pertaining to the disorder requiring said medication. This documentation should include but is not limited to diagnosis and the steps to come to the diagnosis, and prescription name and dosage.
