Uxbridge Wins 2011 Small School Championship

Box Score

Worcester, Mass. – Powered by 18 points and 13 rebounds from senior Daniel Tessier, second-seeded Uxbridge held on for a wild 54-50 win over top-seeded Quabog in the 2011 Small School Championship on Saturday evening.

The Spartans led by as many as 21 points in the third quarter before the Cougars mounted a furious rally behind hot three-point shooting, cutting the Uxbridge lead down to one, before the Spartans regrouped and claimed their fourth Clark Tournament title and first since 1993.

Both teams shot better than 50 percent in the second half, but it was the Spartans who took advantage of their size inside and went 12-for-16 in the second half on free throws.
